Finally getting around to doing a Blog post....

Geez, seems like there's so much to do these days that I never get everything that I wanna do done!  And blogging is one of the things that has kinda fell by the wayside....
I am getting ready for my very first craft show!!  I'm really excited about it and sure hope I sell something! LOL  I've also started making jewlry, so will be taking some of that to the show... along with my cards, of course, journals, and other little paper craft items!

Hey, there's a great give-away over at my friend's Blog!  Go check it out!!!  It's the one year anniversary of "Walking on Old Paths" Blog!
http://walkingoldpaths.blogspot.com/2010/10/one-year-blogiversary.html
Here is what she's giving away!  Awesome!!!
Stone like cross, book by Julia Clinton - Extraordinary Women, cute little rooster mug and one of the pouches that I make. Also I am putting in a 5 X 7 copy of a picture of some horses that my husband took. It is beautiful.
(I tried to post a picture but for some reason, it wouldn't post just by copying and pasting.... anyway, just go there and see the picture!!
Thanks Pam for offering  this wonderful prize to us!
well, better get busy!  I still  have quite a few things I want to accomplish before the craft show on Friday!
Until next time.....

OWH Blog

I set up a Blog for the cards that I'm making to send to OWH... Operation Write Home is an organization that accepts homemade cards from all of us "crafters" and then sends them to the soldiers overseas so they can have them to send out to their family & friends.... what a neat thing to do! I'm so excited about being a part of this!
Here is the URL to my Blog... keep following it coz I'll be adding more cards as I make them!

Recipe and Address Books

Been making some "different" projects to sell at the Farmer's Market this year... Found an easy cute way to make recipe books on somebody's Blog... You use regular recipe cards; decorate a front & back and then bind it up! Address book is basically the same way... I made a form in my print shop to use inside it... Here's what they look like!

Haven't posted in awhile.....

But that doesn't mean I haven't been busy! Still been scrapping a lot plus making cards... Speaking of, I finally sold a card in my etsy shop!! I was so excited as I opened it in February, thinking I would never sell anything, with as many shops as there is out there! Was very excited when I sold a birthday card! It was one with a huge sunflower on the front and a little lady bug sitting on top of it... Made my day! here are some of the things I've been creating....

Spring flower layouts

Was in the scrappin' mood today and did a couple of layouts that I took in the early spring when Buster & I went out for a little walk around the yard. I love it when the daffodils & hyacints start blooming, showing you that the long winter is finally over and spring has sprung!
I did these for challenges over at Scrap Sisters...
am almost out of pictures believe it or not, but never fear! I have some coming in the mail! lol It's a good thing that my daughter & granddaughter take lots of good pictures coz there's only so many layouts I can do of Buster! :)
Have a scrappin' good day!

been scrapping up a storm....

Easter layouts... Been working on all of the kids' pictures they took Easter... I didn't take any, so have to "steal" theirs to have something to scrap of the grandkids! :)
The first layout is made with my April Paper Posies kit.... love getting that kit!
I got an awesome new monthly kit from creative scrapbooking! I love it, too! It's all about lots of feminine flowers & lace & the paper is gorgeous! The second layout is a layout made from my first kit from them.... don't know how long I can afford to get both kits every month, but I'm loving while I can!
Have a scappin' good day!

Sketchy Thursday Layout April 1

Decided to go back and do the original April layout at sketchy Thursday.... This is my beautiful granddaughter, Shelby. She is having all kinds of adventures in her life right now, so thought this layout was appropriate for her!
I hate that my scanner always puts a black crease down the middle of the layouts that I stitch together... guess I will start using my camera again instead of scanning and stitching...

Why do you scrapbook?

Do you ever feel that time is going by so fast that it's passing you by? That probably doesn't make a lot of sense, but I'm in a reflective kind of mood this morning, I guess.
Its hard to believe that I'm going on 58 years old! That my children are all grown; that half of my grandchildren are grown; that I have GREAT-Grandchildren; and that I'm getting OLD! lol I know that basically 58 isn't really that old, but my body is practically worn out and after a night of arthritis pain keeping me awake, then I feel OLD!
I sit here looking at my baker's rack full of scrapbooks (that's what I have them stored on), and I see LIFE, at least life of the last almost 20 years. I wonder if, once I've gone on to my eternal reward, will whoever inherits these albums appreciate these books of love the way I do! Will they sit and look at the memories and smile and be thankful that I took the time to do this for them? Will someday my little great-grandchildren look at them and think, "wow, my great-granny really loved her family!"
I'm believing that they will! That leaving this legacy of love via scrapbooks will make a difference in my family's lifes someday by showing them how much I truly did love them!
I might not make the most perfect or fanciest layouts, but each one is made with a smile, a prayer for the person involved, and a whisper that says, "I love you!"
That's why I scrapbook...

Happy Easter!

Here is a card that I made for my cancer patient that I send cards to a couple times a week.... I used the Designer Calendar cartridge to cut the cross and the Easter.... Most of the paper is from a Paper Posies kit... I stamped the scripture & cross inside and the lace at the bottom of the inside is also from Paper Posies...
Where does time go? I can't believe it's already Easter! 1/4 of the year has already gone by... The weather has been gorgeous, which I'm loving! I was so tired of winter!!
My grandson is having hip surger on Thursday, so if you read this, say a prayer for him! He is 18, a football player & wrestler, so this is from an injury...they are going in to clean out the bone chips... He is having it in Houston, even though they live in Broken Arrow, Ok, coz the best sports surgeon is there....
Been enjoying working with sketches, scrappin' up a storm...will share some more later!
Have a scrappin' good day!

starting over...

For some reason I can't access my blogs now, even though they still show to be there. And I've tried and tried to access blogger help and there's no way to contact them direct! so.... guess I'll have to start my blog over again! I hate this coz I've blogged on the same one for years... but...here goes!

I am an avid scrapbooker and cardmaker and like to share my work with others. This is the main reason of my blog..

Here is a layout that I've completed to enter in a challenge at Creative Prompts. It is challenge #7 Howdy Partner....
I just used embellishments from my stash, other than the alphabet, which I got from a paper poses kit... It is a cork alpahbet, kind of hard to see in this picture. Really cool!
Until next time....
Have a scrappin' good day!
